Disney Themed Graduation Breakfast
It’s a tradition in my house to celebrate all the things with a themed breakfast. My kids really look forward to celebrating everything from the first day of school and all the small holidays in between. This all started for me because hosting their birthday parties just didn’t cut it for me. I love a great theme and love to celebrate even more.
I found that a themed breakfast is a fun way to celebrate and keep cost down. Snatch up some party decor from target and the dollar store and you’ve got yourself a fun themed breakfast that will make lasting memories for your kids.
This graduation breakfast was extra special. Obviously, because of Covid my daughters Kindergarten graduation was canceled. We also didn’t plan our yearly trip to Disney and we were all missing Mickey. With both in mind, I knew we could make my daughters graduation breakfast extra special by bringing home Disney.
How to plan out your breakfast:
Like most breakfast themes I like to search Pinterest for some initial ideas. I search the theme as a party and breakfast to get a general idea. I also like to search food/ snack ideas for the theme to help tie it together.
For this breakfast I knew I wanted to have a traditional Disney breakfast. I did a quick search on Pinterest for Disney park foods. There breakfast includes signature Mickey waffles, eggs, bacon, tater tots and sausage. I also like to see how it’s served and mimic that as well. Even down to the same exact waffle mix! The more authentic the better.
As for decor, I chose non traditional Disney colors by selecting pink and gold with black. Because of this I had to buy plain paper goods. I used my Silhouette to cut out some Mickey ears on vinyl and card stock to make stickers, a garland and an iron on decal.
Other decor items include a balloon garland and jumbo photo strip from Social Print Studio. I am also lucky enough to have a talented Mom who bakes beautiful cookies and is always ready to make some cookies for her grandkids.
